My name is Nichola Battilana. I am a maker, witch, and the head mischief maker of Pixie Hill.

Despite my formal fine arts education and a fancy degree in graphic design, I remain steadfastly anti-pretentiousness, and wholly believe in whimsy and the joy of creation.

I draw inspiration from history, folklore, fairytales, nature, magic, and my home... Pixie Hill.

Pixie Hill is a wobbly 100+ year old farm house that sits on two hilly acres in Brighton, Ontario in Canada. The stars here are extra twinkly.

I live here with a husband, son, betta fish named Mr. Bukowski and a big cuddly dog named Lu.

Pixie Hill is not open to the public, but does occasionally host open house events for the very nosy. (Check my social media accounts for any upcoming dates.)

Creatively I am currently focused on slowing down and savoring the making process. This is wildly contradictory to my many, many years of prolific mess making. Through pottery and gardening I have been re-introduced to the pleasures of unpredictability, imperfection and letting go.

In a world of constant bombardment of more, more, more... slowing down has been a lovely experiment in patience and reward. Turns out, after working myself raw, I prefer the soft and slow life.

And the witchiness? I read cards and stones, cast spells and honor the natural world.

My interest in witchcraft and folk magick spans back as far as I can remember. I've been a serious practitioner for about 3 decades. I don't subscribe to any particular path, preferring to work in my own solitary way, gathering knowledge from a plethora of magical traditions with a focus on folk and herbal magic.

That's about sums it up in a neat little nutshell. If there's anything unanswered that you'd like to know, just shoot me a message.

Blessings,
